The Weekenders Group was formed in 2015 for members who find themselves at a loose end at the weekends as most of the u3a groups meet during the week.

During the Winter, our aim is to find weekend activities we can enjoy inside, a visit to a theatre to see a show, or a film at a cinema, that a number of our members are interested in, and maybe a visit to a museum.

During the Summer months, we usually organise a picnic at Compass Gardens, which often includes playing games such as rounders or boules etc., or Hylands House. Again lunches out on a Sunday, sitting outside if possible, and a cream tea at a member’s house. There are also numerous fetes, fairs, classic car shows, food festivals, etc., which can be arranged between those members who are interested in going.

• Every Saturday Coffee Lounge from 11am onwards for drink and chat
• Every Sunday Coffee Lounge from 11am onwards and /or stroll along river path from noon (meet in car park by river at noon).
• Every Sunday evening Pop Quiz in The Curlew Pub in SWF at 8.15pm. Snacks available
